ACTING FOR THE CAMERA is an intensive six week class lead by actor/director Mark Redfield, whose credits include Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Cold Harbor, Despiser, and the upcoming Chainsaw Sally.
The course covers many important areas for the film actor, including:
- History of film acting and acting styles
- Camera techniques for the actor
- The grammar and syntax of film (what the actor needs to know)
- Role preparation and screenplay analysis
- The importance of film dialogue and time compression in cinema performance
- Audition materials and techniques
- Agency contacts and the business tools of the trade
- The final class will be conducted as a "real" shoot day for a narrative feature film.

CINEMA SCENE STUDY is an exciting six week course lead by actor/director Mark Redfield.
The course is designed for actors with some film or theater experience allowing them a safe laboratory atmosphere to develop skills through guided and critiqued film scene work.
The course covers important areas for the film actor, including:
-How to read and analyze a motion picture screenplay (it aint easy!)
-Intensive scene work (some outside classtime required)
-The grammar and syntax of film (what the actor needs to know)
-Preparation techniques for filmwork and continuity tricks of the trade
-emotional continuity for the film actor in scenework
-Extensive on-camera practice with the scenes

ACTING FOR TEENS
This fun workshop style course, designed for ages 11 to 17, also taught by Mark Redfield covers:
- improvisation,
- theatre games to develop concentration and the imagination,
- movement and vocal training for the young actor,
- basic stage and film techniques,
- monologue work and,
- on camera work!

ACTING 1 is a fun and informtive six week class lead by actor/director Mark Redfield.
The course is designed with the beginning adult actor in mind, who wishes to act on the stage or on film and television.
Leave all fear at the door! No experience neccessary! This is where you get your feet wet!
-History of acting styles and the importance of the actor in modern culture
-The difference between stage and film acting--the basic techniques
-The first lessons: techniques in relaxation and concentration for the actor
-Preparing to play: techniques to prepare both the vocal and physical instruments
-Preparing to play: techniques to stretch and develop the actors imagination
-Audition materials and techniques
-Agency contacts and the business tools of the trade (its easy!)

Each 6 week class is $300 payable by check or money order (made payable to Redfield Arts,) or by PayPal. The course is non-accredited. Full payment is due at the first scheduled class. Payments are refundable up until date of first class session. After the first class there will be no refund.
